Recruitment

Recruitment and retention of students has been a consistent topic since my employment at Casper College. Specific ways I have worked toward recruitment in the Paramedic program include: word of mouth, participating in the career fairs, participating in Key Camp, growing partnerships with clinical affiliations, and volunteering time in the NCSD with basketball.

Growing our partnerships with clinical affiliates has allowed the organizations to send employees through the paramedic program. These organizations want to see outside talent, but they also want to see their employees doing clinicals at their site. Allowing this, while challenging, has increased our number of distance students.

Volunteering time within our school district, although primarily for athletics, has allowed me the ability to speak with high school athletes regarding their future career plans. This has allowed me to speak about health sciences. My mentality here is this: Even if only one student has come to Casper College for ANY Health Science program, my time in the school district has been positively impactful.
